Application should be printed off, filled in, and brought, with proper identification, to City Hall, 1119 Alamo Street. Application can also be emailed to email@example.com. Deposit must be paid in cash or by credit card. There is a 3% processing fee for a credit card. No checks will be accepted for deposits. Deposit is due in full at time of service. Water will be turned on on the day that the deposit is received, if it is prior to 4:00 p.m. Otherwise, water will be turned on the next regular business day.
* Per Ordinance 15-01, the performance of a life, health and safety inspection must be done by a Code Enforcement Officer on any residential structure before the water services will be connected. The Residential Occupancy Application may be filled out and returned to City Hall with the $25.00 application fee. This is separate from the water service fees.

City of Commerce residents receive garbage collection twice a week. Collection days are Monday & Thursday or Tuesday & Friday, depending on the area of town in which you live. Garbage must be at the curb no later than 7:00 a.m. and cannot be set out prior to the day of pick up. For route schedules call (903) 886-1134 or (903) 886-1133.

Payment for utility service is due upon receipt and past due 20 days from the billing date. A 10% late penalty is charged for payments received after 4:45 p.m. on the 20th day.
The City accepts Visa/MasterCard for utility payments. There is a 3% processing fee, based on the amount of the transaction, for making credit card payments.

Temporary water service is available for a one week period for the purpose of cleaning or showing a vacant residence. The cost for this service is $30.00. If 1,000 gallons or more of water is used, the service will be turned on and utilities will be charged to the owner.
At the customer’s request, meters will be re-read. A customer will be allowed one free re-read annually. All additional re-reads will be charged at $30.00 each unless the meter has been read incorrectly.
Disconnection for Delinquency
On failure to pay a utility account within thirty (30) days of the billing date a $30.00 processing fee will be applied to the account and service will be discontinued until the processing fee, penalties, and delinquent amounts are paid. An additional service charge of $30.00 will be made for any re-connection made during any hours other than 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Monday through Friday, anytime on Saturday or Sunday or during any holiday observed by the personnel at City Hall.
