Included in the Public Works Department is the Street Maintenance Division. This division maintains streets inside the City Limits, maintains drainage systems, so as to remove the water at peak times, installs new street signs and replaces street and traffic signs as needed to ensure that traffic moves safely within the City. The Street Maintenance division conducts the monthly Clean Commerce Campaign, as well as thunderstorm and ice storm clean up as needed. In the future, goals include the maintenance of City streets and to continue with street repair programs such as the Aldridge Street reconstruction, rocking and overlaying streets and keeping all signs replaced as needed for the safety of the people driving within the City. Goals also include purchasing new equipment in order to replace aging equipment.
