JOB SUMMARY
Performs routine clerical, administrative, and data processing work. Receives visitors at City Hall and directs all incoming calls and messages. Preform a variety of clerical duties and assist utilities with inquiries, new service, service orders and account closures.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet persons entering establishment, determines nature and purpose of visit, and directs visitor to specific destination, or answers question and provides information.
- Answers telephone and directs calls and messages.
- Collect and distribute messages for employees of the City.
- Types memos, correspondence, or other documents.
- File mail and incoming packages daily.
- Processes work orders for utility disconnections, reconnections, new orders, and other public works service requests.
- Receives telephone calls and citizen visits concerning utility billings or services; handles questions and matters of a more technical nature; responds to citizen complaints.
- Process utility payments made by phone, credit card or check
- Record all payments made by check received through the mail or in night drop box.
- Assist with meetings and special events.
