WASTEWATER COLLECTION AND TREATMENTadmin2010-06-25T20:50:28-05:00
Wastewater is collected through fifty-five miles of lines consisting of clay tile, plastic, steel and concrete pipe ranging in size from four inch service lines to main interceptor lines of twenty-one inch. Two thirds of the sewer is fed to the wastewater treatment plant by gravity and the remaining third is fed by four lift stations.
Wastewater Collection employees maintain the City sewer lines to the level that all sewer lines flow freely in order to minimize the problems the residents may have discarding their wastewater. They install, repair and replace sewer lines as needed, install and maintain and raise manholes as needed. Employees also make sewer taps as requested by residents through City Hall. Future goals include to continue to improve the level of service and better serve the residents of the City of Commerce.
Please call the Service Center at (903) 886-1152 to report sewer problems or with any other questions or concerns.
